Alexander Wolfson

Alexander Wolfson is a highly experienced barrister of more than 25 years standing. He served as a Crown Advocate and District Crown Prosecutor for the CPS for over 16 years, adeptly prosecuting many complex and high-pressure criminal trials. Mr Wolfson returned to private practice in 2023, undertaking both prosecution and defence work. Combining his strong sense of civic duty, an unflinching belief in due process and the law and his proven ability to manage complex litigation, Mr Wolfson is well placed to represent the class members and ensure that Microsoft is properly held to account.

Mr Wolfson is supported by an Advisory Panel, consisting of Lord Christopher Bellamy KC, a retired judge to the General Court of the European Unions and former President of the Competition Appeal Tribunal; Sir Christopher Floyd PC, a former judge of the Court of and now a member of 11 South Square; Boaz Moselle, a professional economist who was worked in academia, consulting and government;  Ann Pope, a former Acting Executive Director, Enforcement, at the CMA; and Rory Blauw, a software licensing consultant. Together they will provide Mr Wolfson with diverse legal, economic and industry expertise to administer the claim in the best interests of the class.

In addition, Mr Wolfson has instructed a team of experts who will be responsible for providing evidence in relation to the impact of Microsoft’s alleged breaches of competition law and the losses suffered by class members as a result. Finally, the claim is fully funded by Harbour.
